sunnyu, then clouding over, mild - temps 23
Slightly below seasonable. had breakfast with Joan today in the village. Long chats about life. Took her a container of sugar snap peas from our garden. They're fabulous. Then home to cut some flowers in the garden and take a vase to Bal and Linda at the guest cottage. Stopped and had a lemonade with them - such interesting people. Fascinating. Then home to sit on the screen porch with book 6 and a red pen. Then Cheryl called and we chatted for half an hour or so. Have set up breakfast next Saturday with her.
Such a tonic - to re-connect with friends. To open the door and walk back into the community. Phew.

Hi Louise: Just had to tell you to go see Julie & Julia at the movies. It was great and I know you will love it. Meryl is absolutely amazing as Julia. The humor about the cooking is a riot. Also the fact that a blog turned into a book and a movie is an amazing success story.
Regards,
Donna
It is amazing to me how much your life would resemble an English country novel, if you didn't share all the frustrations and anxieties, etc. plus the invariable adventures of living in an Country House. Lovely...
I will be fine-need some tuning up and am recovering from 5 days in the hospital!!!
Thank you!!!
I agree with Donna's recommendation of Julie & Julia. In fact, it's the subject of my blog today.
Dear Donna and Margaret,
dying to see Julie & Julia...the promos look hilarious. Must get back to Montreal to see it! Thank you for the suggestions.
Dear Lil,
Oh, that is a relief. So glad you're on the mend.
